What is counselling?
Counselling provides a confidential safe space which allows you to talk to a trained professional about your worries and concerns. Counsellors can help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to gain a better understanding of yourself and your situation. Counselling can help you make changes in your day to day life and develop coping strategies. Counsellors are not there to give you advice or share their opinions but to help you find the answers within yourself.

The first initial session is free of charge, this gives us a chance to get to know each other and gives you the opportunity to discover if you think telephone counselling can work for you.
How long will I need Counselling?
This is completely individual to you and changes from person to person. Sessions are 50 minutes long and scheduled weekly at the same time each week, however this can be discussed and accommodated for your needs. I offer my services in blocks of 6 sessions and will have a check in with you on session 4 of that block to see where you are at, if you are finding the service beneficial, if you would like to extend the sessions or if you feel you are ready to come to an end.

Everything is taken at your pace and what feels right for you.
How much will it cost?
The first initial session is free of charge, thereafter it is:

£35 for a 50 minute Face-to-Face, Online or Telephone session.

Fees need to be paid in advance of the session taking place. I accept payment via bank transfer and will provide you with an invoice for this transaction.
When can I be seen?
My aim is to respond to your initial enquiry within 48 hours (Monday to Friday) and email you more information about the service and get more details about what brings you to counselling. I will aim to set up the initial session within a week of receiving a completed agreement form where we can get to know each other and decide if you want to proceed with sessions.

These sessions will take place over the telephone, so it is essential you have a space in your home where you will not be disturbed so we can maintain confidentiality.
Do you have a cancellation policy?Â
Yes, if you need to cancel a session please get in contact and notify me at least 24 hours before the scheduled session.
You can get in contact with me between sessions by sending an email to JennaKellyCounsellingServices@gmail.com.
Should you cancel within less than the 24 hours’ notice agreed, or fail to attend an appointment, the full session fee will be charged.
The counselling contract will be terminated if:

• the client does not attend two sessions in a row without notifying the counsellor
• the client cancels three sessions in a row
• the client wishes to cease counselling

The client and the counsellor also have the right to end counselling at given any time.
What is confidentiality?
Confidentiality means whatever is discussed in sessions stays between us, however there are some exceptions to this. I am required to monitor my own counselling practice by attending regular supervision within the guidance of the BACP. During supervision I will refer to caseloads meaning there are times where aspects of our sessions will be taken to supervision; I will use your first name but not use any other identifying details about you, and my supervisor is also committed to our contracted confidentiality.

In adherence with the BACP’s ethical code, I am obliged to break confidentiality if you were to disclose involvement in or knowledge of an act of terrorism, money laundering and drugs trafficking. In addition I have a responsibility to report instances of harm to self or to others and a legal obligation to report harm or abuse to a minor or vulnerable adult.
